Have you found an ancestor on the IGI, parish register transcript or an online tree and would like to
verify the details with the original parish register? I can visit Gloucestershire Archives
on your behalf and consult the original parish register.
Submit the details of a baptism, marriage or burial that took place in a
Gloucestershire parish church,
and I will check the original or microfilmed Parish Register or, should
that not be available, then the Bishops Transcripts. A transcript of the
entry will be sent to you, along with a copy of the entry (if this is possible).
If this is a marriage that took place in a Gloucestershire church after
1837, then you could receive a copy of the entry containing the actual
signatures or marks made by your ancestors!
If you are uncertain of the exact date, for example if you only have an
approximate year of birth from the census, or a civil registration quarter
date, please
contact us before you order. I am prepared to search for up to 20 minutes
for each look-up, but
you must tell me that you are unsure of the date and/or parish, and give me
full details of who you are looking for and what you know already.
Please make sure you accurately complete the request form, double checking
the information before submission, as I regret no refunds can be given due
to inaccuracies, as I will have made the journey to the Archives and spent
time looking, regardless.
